So we find ourselves in this predicament of existence.
Until truth prevails we will stand with the resistance.
And we struggle and we fight at everyone's insistence,
but as it turns out, we mostly can dismiss this.

Cause I know the secret to life.
I know the ultimate answer.
The truth that was not handed down from on high: nothing matters.

We have friends and loves and community around us
that bring meaning to this life whatever way they found us,
but that's meaning we make to pull each other up together
and when we're all gone, not one of us will remember.

Look at a map of the Milky Way.
You can't even point out this planet.
There are more galaxies even farther away.
If you can ascribe meaning, have at it.
In a thousand years no one will understand in.

Since we're here anyway
and these lives are what we make
